Canaletto
Residential hospitality revisited
Canaletto is a residential interior in London that reinterprets apartment living through a curated, hospitality-driven approach. Situated along the Regent’s Canal at the intersection of Islington, Clerkenwell, Shoreditch, and the City, the apartment is shaped by its light-filled character and expansive views, which extend seamlessly into generous terraces and the surrounding urban landscape.
Through a careful balance of materiality, craftsmanship, and spatial composition, the design creates an environment that feels both refined and lived-in—where natural textures, curated furnishings, and subtle zoning strategies define a contemporary interior rooted in comfort, clarity, and connection to its context.

Located adjacent to the Regent’s Canal in London, Canaletto is a residential interior project that reinterprets apartment living through the lens of hospitality and curated design. Positioned between Islington, Clerkenwell, Shoreditch, and the City, the apartment is defined by its elevated views and a light-filled spatial quality that extends outward to generous terraces and the surrounding urban landscape.
The design approach is rooted in curation rather than decoration, prioritising material integrity, craftsmanship, and a restrained palette. Natural finishes—such as oiled wood flooring, light oak detailing, and muted tones of pale sage—establish a calm and contemporary foundation, while carefully selected furniture pieces introduce moments of refinement and character. The result is an interior that balances softness and precision, creating a space that feels both intimate and expansive.
The open-plan layout is organised to maintain visual continuity while subtly defining distinct zones for living, working, and relaxation. Furniture arrangements create a series of spatial moments within the larger volume, allowing for flexibility in use—from quiet, individual retreat to social gathering. The living area, oriented toward the views, incorporates adaptable elements such as movable media features and layered seating configurations that support a range of activities.
Bedrooms are conceived as individual environments, each with a distinct character while maintaining a shared emphasis on comfort and material quality. Throughout the apartment, the selection of furniture and artwork reflects a curated composition of contemporary design, reinforcing the project’s identity as a carefully assembled interior rather than a prescribed aesthetic.
Canaletto demonstrates how residential interiors can adopt the sensibility of hospitality—where atmosphere, materiality, and spatial flow are carefully orchestrated to create a refined and enduring living environment within the city.
